Denkendorf, 09/30/2021 – pepper motion GmbH welcomed numerous guests to mark the official inauguration of its new company headquarters in Denkendorf on September 24, 2021. More than 100 customers, interested parties, partners, and representatives from politics, administration, and the regional press were impressed by the management team and employees’ innovative power and idealism for sustainable, emission-free transportation.

The new company building, with its open office environment, modern vehicle development hall and efficient charging infrastructure, creates the appropriate space for further growth, continuing internationalization, and creative development in the teams. With ongoing expansion and further development of innovative products and solutions in the field of electric drive systems for the commercial vehicle sector, the pepper’s Denkendorf headquarters will serve as a springboard to the world.

Personalities and Highlights

A traditional Weisswurst snack and brass band clearly defined the company’s commitment to its Bavarian roots. In their welcoming speeches, District Administrator Alexander Anetsberger for the Eichstätt district and Claudia Forster, the first mayoress of Denkendorf, praised pepper as a highly innovative and deeply sustainable company and highlighted the opportunities for the region with pepper’s technology for the electrification of local public transport. Reverend Konrad Weber performed the solemn blessing of the building and all employees and visitors.

One of the highlights was the keynote speech by Dr. Matthias Ballweg on the subject of the circular economy and retrofitting. He leads the Mobility and EU Policy Division at SYSTEMIQ – a globally active “system change company” driving the shift towards a sustainable economy. Together with the World Economic Forum, Ballweg is responsible for the “Circular Cars Initiative,” an alliance of many players from the mobility sector to promote the circular economy in the automotive industry.

“Our new headquarters in Denkendorf, with the corresponding infrastructure, is an important step for the further international expansion of our company,” explains Andreas Hager, Managing Director of pepper motion GmbH. “Denkendorf will be the cradle for new innovative ideas and products to accelerate decarbonization. By 2030, we will have more than half a billion commercial vehicles on the roads – we want to electrify a significant proportion of them with our sustainable solutions and thus make our contribution to emission-free and climate-friendly mobility in our society,” says Andreas Hager, proudly concluding the description of the company’s mission.
