pepper receives Bavarian State Foundation’s environmental award

Denkendorf, 10/11/2022 – On October 10, 2022, pepper motion GmbH was presented with the Bavarian State Foundation’s Environmental Award 2022. Every year, the Foundation honors outstanding achievements in the cultural, social, and environmental fields that have a close connection to the state of Bavaria. As part of the ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the Bavarian State Foundation, the 2022 Environmental Award was also presented to pepper CEO Andreas Hager by Dr. Florian Herrmann, MdL, Head of the State Chancellery and State Minister for Federal Affairs and Media. Dr. Christian Mikulla, President of the Bavarian State Office for the Environment, presented the awards to the prizewinners in the environmental category.

Following a detailed review, the selection committee responsible for the 10,000-euro environmental award chose pepper in mid-July 2022 after the Eichstätt district administration office proposed the company, which is based in Denkendorf. pepper plays a pioneering role in the technical conversion of diesel to e-commercial vehicles and is a perfect example of the innovative strength of Bavarian companies.

Award Recognizes Key Technology for Successful Transportation Turnaround

pepper received the award for its innovative electrification solution, which enables rapid and cost-effective access to electromobility. The etrofit kit converts existing diesel commercial vehicles, giving them a second life as zero-emission electronic commercial vehicles. The pepper concept for electrifying existing commercial vehicle fleets is both sustainable and cost-effective, while offering short-term availability for the most common bus and truck models in series production quality.
