In addition to pepper vehicles, the customer’s own vehicles can also be electrified on request or existing electric vehicles can be integrated into the ecosystem.
The charging strategy of electric commercial vehicles is adapted to the use cases of the vehicles and with normatively established charging points. Vehicles parked overnight in depot parking areas are conditioned for the next circulation with so-called depot charging. A holistically planned charging infrastructure takes into account harmonization between circulation planning, energy procurement, and charging/load management.
Special circumstances of different properties can lead to adapted and customer-specific solutions in this context.
Energy generation
To make the greatest possible contribution to sustainability, the customer’s depot or charging stations are supplied with electricity from sustainable energy sources. Existing solar power generation can also be integrated into the pepper energy concept.

The central element of the ecosystem is pepper’s participation in the European Energy Exchange (EEX). Through an intelligent procurement strategy, pepper trades exactly as much energy as is forecasted in the customer’s circulation planning. Despite a volatile energy market, this leads to the best possible energy price for the vehicle fleet.

Where economically feasible, energy quantities can additionally be stored in buffer storage and provided in the right quantity at the right time for the charging processes with the help of a load management system paired with the deployment plan.

During the operation of the vehicle, pepper ensures the highest possible efficiency of the vehicle with the greatest possible range by means of battery and energy management. pepper guarantees carbon-free operation of the customer’s routes. A fleet management system additionally increases the performance of the vehicles.
