is our mission

Transport represents almost one-fifth of the world’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Moreover, air pollutants are now considered the world’s largest environmental health risk, and a major cause of premature death and disease. The world needs rapid action on reducing harmful emissions.

With our electric drive systems we want to accelerate the world’s transition to electric mobility. Sustainability is at the core of our mission.

Our solutions

Key sustainability features of pepper’s solutions:

Virtually zero local emissions in the operating phase*
Development of ‘Second-life’ & ‘Third-life’ concepts for our batteries to reduce production of new batteries
Highly energy-efficient drive and control systems
‘Design for re-use’ and ‘Design for recycle’ approaches in the development of new components
Disposal of old diesel parts according to the 4R’s of sustainable waste management (Reduce, Re-use, Recycle, Recover)
Short and local supply chains to reduce emissions and support the local economy (approx. 80% of our main suppliers are from Germany and 20% from the EU)

* Bio-diesel is used in the Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) system of our buses, when it is not electrically powered. Added to that, the air conditioning coolant has a low CO2 impact..

In addition to our kit, we develop software solutions in-house to manage the EV’s charging infrastructure. Through these smart solutions, our clients can not only regulate their power consumption and keep costs low, but also forecast their energy demand and usage.

Emission-free mobility with pepper

Our product is aligned with the EU’s Paris Conference of Parties (COP) commitment to reduce the bloc’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by at least 55 percent by 2030 compared to 1990 levels.
In addition to the EU, we are in line with the German government’s goal of increasing the use of clean road-transport vehicles. Owing to ambitious German and EU-targets as well as regulatory support, we see huge potential in market growth for the deployment of our low- and zero-emission drive systems.

We practice sustainability
